Oxossi, O Caçador Encantado

Hunter).”This collection was
published in Salvador, Bahía by the Fundação Gregório de Mattos.Though the collection is undated, it may still be available directly from

| This story
begins when Yemojá had three children: Ogún, Eshú and Oshosi. Ogún
worked in fields (agriculture), Eshú lived free and Oshosi was the hunter
in the neighborhood. |
From the
union of the elephant hunter [Erinle] with Oshún Iponda, Logunedé was
born. Who was the particularity of living six months on group,
feeding himself on prey, and other six months in the waters, eating fish. |
One day
Oshosi went far away for hunting and found Osain in the woods. Osain
tired of living alone prepared a beverage, made of leaves, which caused
amnesia and offered it to Oshosi so that he stayed there in his company. |
